Biography:
He was born in Glasgow, Scotland to his father Ryan Walton and his mother Charlotte Fletcher. He was the their only son, having 2 older sisters, Clara [B. 1886] and Mary [B. 1888]. In his younger years he would be educated in Anderston School. After he graduated, he would join Donaldson Line as an Able-Bodied Seaman, he enjoyed his job at sea and therefore served for Donaldson Line for countless voyages onboard their ships. His first Passenger liner was Cassandra, onboard which he was a Boatswain, leading the seamen along. He wrote a letter to his father about heavy storms they encountered on their crossings. He would join Royal Navy at age of 22, being given a rank of Petty Officer. Following year he would join White Star Line, due to his past experience he was given role of Master-At-Arms, first serving onboard Adriatic and Teutonic. Soon enough first world war broke out and he'd serve for Royal Navy onboard HMS Colossus and many more. In 1915, he got news about his mother's death and had to go back home. In 1916, when back in service, he was appointed onboard Her Majesty's Hospital Ship Britannic, he was honored to serve onboard such a ship. He is now staying in Southampton, waiting for Britannic's sixth round trip.
