Short bio: Michael Shaw, born the fifth of July, 1879, was born into a poor, but reverent Catholic family in the small hilltop city of Taormina, Italy. They grew up going to church frequently, Michael serving as an altar server at their church until he entered seminary in 1897. He was ordained 1905 and was stationed in the Duomo di Taormina. Come the First World War, Fr. Shaw traveled around parts of Italy and Southern Europe spreading the words of the Gospels and visiting the ill and dying.
