"She's Cheeky but she's experienced" - some colleagues talking about her As Filed, 7th October 1916. Name: Dolly Stoker DOB: 13th January 1889 - 27 years old upon registering in 1916 POB: St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London Assignment: H.M.H.S. 'BRITANNIC'. BIOGRAPHY STATES: ------------------------------------- Born on the 13th of January 1889 at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London, she grew up in rural areas of London and worked in a school whose name is undisclosed. After she graduated in 1909, she pursued as a Medical and Nurse Assistant, which is for helping wounded and helpless individuals. During the time of training, she went to New York via Lusitania, which departed from Liverpool on January 8th 1910 and arrived there on the 15th of the same month of same year and continued her training there. It wouldn't be until March 1912 that she boarded the R.M.S. Olympic, which departed from New York and headed to Southampton and arrived there in April 1912, shortly before the Titanic departed Belfast for Southampton. In 1914, WW1 broke out and during her continued training for Medical and Nurse assistance, she decided to sign up for the VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) as an individual who would help others in the face of an ongoing war. Coordinated training took place and made her more experienced in the VAD working environment. By 1916, she was ready to be deployed. However, her deployment would start at Lemnos, which means the only way for her to get there would be onboard the H.M.H.S. Britannic.
