William Edwards Age: 19, Born April 8th, 1896 Born in 1896, to an English Father, and a German mother in the bustling streets of London in a large flat, William affectionately called “Will” had a rather wonderful upbringing growing up in an upper-class family. He had 3 older sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, and Cathrine. And his Younger Brother Arthur. He spent many holidays with his German grandparents who lived in New York, it was a calm day on June 15th, 1904, when he was traveling with his grandparents on a steamboat through the East River, he was only a small child at the time. And the ship was destined for a Lutheran Church picnic. He only remembered the horrifying scream of “Fire” coming from the distance, holding on tightly to his grandparents they jumped overboard into the Cold water. Witnessing the steamboat engulfed in flames while they struggled to stay above water. That steamboat was the PS General Slocum. William has a horrible fear of fire and disaster at sea because of this. His parents made sure to give him the best education he could receive. William was exceptionally expelled in his studies, but was often made fun of for his round-framed spectacles, which prompted him to only use them occasionally. He graduated at the top of his class in 1915 and was expected to go to college, but he had other plans. With the First World War raging on.m, William is now out of school. He sought to fulfill his patriotic duty to his country, but he went to the inquiry office and was rejected for a reason he keeps unknown. Instead, he joined the British Red Cross and was put on the Britannic.
