Sofia silvestri

No one knew who Sofia was but all we know about her is, she was born in Italy in Naples around 6.30am on the 10 of March 1890 census, growing up she like to help any one in need of helping when it is needed like the store or her family work, at the age of 20 she got a job at a hospital as a cleaner helping clean up after surgeon did there work, she will stay here helping out for a few month.

In 1915 she was promoted to a heath care worker helping out what ever she can, for her this was a big step she can go placees if need were ever it be bye sea or land, one evening she opens the paper to see an ocean liner had sunk of the cost of Irland, she felt shock that a lot of lives perish and she couldn't do anything to help them, she ask her father if she would be happy to leave to help wounded solider, and that will meaning her to leave the country to bords ship to help wounded soldiers, her father even know he doesn't want her to go he accepts it,

So a new chapter begins she bords her first hospital ship the H.M Valdivia helping wounded solider and mopping up the left overs from surgery, she stays on the vessel for six months.

A year has pass the war still raging on the heads back to Southampton she, even know missing home back in Naples, she await her next mission on the next ship out, she look at the list of medical ship that need crew and medical workers she, spot HMHS Britannic leave Southampton to Naples then to the Greek island to pick up wounded solider, her prayer had been answered she see that that the ship dock in Naples for a day or two to refill on coal , a warm feeling feel inside her to help the wounded solider and to see her father again, she write her name on the list as a Healthcare worker boarding the ship in Southampton on the 12 November 1916.
